یَسعیاہ { عبرانی ، یشا عیا ھو ، ِ یَہو وا ہ نِجات ہے } یہ آمُوس کے بیٹے تھے اور یرَوشلیم میں رہتے تھے۔ قُرانِ پاک میں آپکا ذِکر نہیں ہے۔ آپ کا ذکر بائیبل مُقَدّس میں انبیائے کُبرا میں سرِ فہرست ہے۔ آپکا زمانہء نبوّت ۷۹۱ تا ۶۸۸ ق م کا ہے۔ آپ نے عُزیاہ { ۷۹۱ تا ۷۹۰ ق م } ، یُوتام { ۷۴۰ تا ۷۳۲ } ، آخِز { ۷۳۵ تا ۷۱۵ } ، اور حِزقیاہ { ۷۱۶ تا ۶۸۶ ق م } بادشاہ کے دَورِ حکُومت میں نبُوّت کی۔ بائبل مُقَدّس اور کلیسیائی تواریخ و روایت کے مُطابق آپکو مُنّسی کے دَورِ حکُومت میں آرے سے چِیرا گیا۔ اِس کا اِشارہ { عہدِ جدید } عِبرانیوں ۱۱ ؛ ۳۷ میں ملتا ہے۔ تجَسّمِ کَلمۃ اللّہ و رُوح اللّہ، یسُوع المسیح کی کنواری عورت سے پیدا ہونے کی واضح اور صریِح پیشین گوئی آپ کی زُبانی ہُوئی { یسعیاہ ۷ : ۱۴ ، ۹ : ۶۔۷ } آپ شادی شُدہ تھے۔ آپکی بیوی کو نبیّہ کہا گیا ہے۔ آپکے دو بیٹو ں کے علامتی نام یہ ہیں:۔ شیار یا شوب { بقیّہ واپس آئے گا } اور مہیر شالال حاش بز { جلدی لَوٹو } ۔ آپ میکاہ نبی کے ہمعصر تھے۔
