حضرتِ آدم علیہ الاسلام ، ساری نسلِ انسانی کے باپ ہیں۔ لفظ،آدم کے عبرانی اور عربی میں معنی ہیں :۔ لال مَٹی ، یا ، زمین سے نِکالا گیا۔: قُران پاک کی ۱۱ سُورتوں میں ۲۵ مرتبہ آپکا ذِکر ہےاور آپکو آللّہ تعالے۱ کا خلیفہ یا نائب بھی کہا گیا ہے۔ بائبل مُقَدّس کی پہلی کتاب پیدائیش میں تخلیقِ آدم کی تفصیل ہے۔ تخلیقِ آدم تقریباّ دس کروڑ سال قبل ہُوئی۔ آدم کا لفظ عہدِ عتیق میں ۵۶۰ بار آیا ہے۔ فرمانِ خُداوندی ہے کہ:۔ ہم انسان کو اپنی صُورت پر اپنی شبیہ کی مانند بنائیں ۱: ۲۶ ۔۔۔: بعد ازاں خُدا تعالے۱ نے آپ کی پسلی میں سے خاتُونِ اوّل حضرتِ حَواّ کو بنایا۔ آدم و حَوّا کو باغِ عدن میں رکھا گیا اور سِوائے ثمرِ ممنُوعہ کے سارے پھل کھانے کی اجازت تھی۔ تاہم، ابلیس لعین کے بہکانے سے ثمرِ ممنُوعہ کھ لینے کے بعد حضرتِ آدم عدن سے نکالے گئے۔ خُدا تعالے۱ نے اپنے عَلمِ سابق کے ازلی اِرادے کے مُطابق اِبلیس کے سر کو کُچلنے والے آدمِ ثانی کو برپا کرنے کا وعدہ کیا۔ ۳:۱۵۔ خرُوج کے بعد کاہن و ہابل { ہابیل اور قابیل } پیدا ہُوئے۔ آدم علیہ الاسلام نے ۹۳۰ برس کی عُمر میں رحلت فرمائی۔
