حضرت مولانا مُحمد یعقُوب نانوتوی صدیقی ؒ ۔ آپکے تاریخی نام منظُور احمد ، غُلام حُسین اور شمس الضحی۱، ہیں۔ آپ ۱۳۔ صفر ۱۲۴۹ ھ بمُطابق ۱۸۳۴ صدی مسیحی نانوتہ میں پیدا ہُوئے۔ والد کا نام مملُوک علی تھا۔ دارالعلُوم دیو بند کی صدارت کے عُہدے پر سب سے پہلے آپ ہی فائز ہُوئے اور ۱۸۸۶ ء تک اسی عُہدے پر رہے۔ پھر صدر المُدرسین بھی رھے۔ صُوفیانہ مسلک میں آپ حضرت حاجی امداداللّہ مہاجر مکّی کے خُلفاء مجازین میں سے تھے۔ آپ اُردُو ، فارسی اور عربی کے قادر الکلام شاعر بھی تھے۔ آپ نے ۳۔ ربیع الاول ۱۳۰۲ ھ { ۱۸۸۶ صدی مسیحی } کو اپنے آبائی وطن مالوف نانوتہ میں دائی اجل کو لبیک کہا۔
